COVID-19: £10,000 fine imposition for self-Isolation breakers in the UK

The UK government has rolled out new measures to enforce breaches against Self-Isolation rules.

The new rule require anyone who has tested position to COVID-19 or was identified as close contact to anyone who tested positive to self-isolate or face fines ranging from £1,000 to £10,000.

This new law comes on the backdrop of a surge on the number of reported new cases of 4,422 with 27 deaths.

Scotland has also recorded its highest daily rate of new cases standing currently at 350.

The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson sad the new laws are meant to convey the clear message “So nobody underestimates just how important this is, new regulations will mean you are legally obliged to do so if you have the virus or have been asked to do so by NHS test and trace. People who choose to ignore the rules will face significant fines”.
