Nigerians in Diaspora mourn the Death of a rare gem-Otumba Dr DapoWilliams

In the moment of great sorrow, the entire Nigerians in the UK mourn the passing away of one of the greatest Nigerians in Diaspora- Otumba Dr Dapo Williams.

The 61-year old erudite  scholar was a multiple Masters degree holder with a Ph.D from University of Salford and had numerous professional certificates from several prestigious institutions including Harvard Business School and University of Cambridge.
Until his death, Dapo Williams was a real estate practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the Building Maintenance Industry and a highly respected community leader in the United Kingdom.
He was also an expert in the Oil and Gas, Automobile Products Retailing, Construction, Education, Employment, Legal Advice and Guidance Industry Sectors.
Otunba Dapo Williams was also the Chair of a Forecourt Petroleum Product retailing outfit in Kent and  member of the institute of Directors (IoD) in London and Kent
Reacting to the death of the great patriot, Sir Chibuzo Ubochi, Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation UK South on behalf of NIDO UK described Late Dr Dapo Williams as “a rare gem gifted with the touch of making one feel a part of a Bigger Community.
He was not known for saying no when called to serve. Words cannot convey the enormity of the void in NIDO as Comrade DW was a leader with whom we have mooted the idea of a ‘One Nigeria Diaspora.’ He was to play a major role in shaping the interests of Nigerians in the Diaspora. He should not have died, now. We will miss him greatly”.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission  (NIDCOM), has described
the death of Dr Dapo Williams, as an irreparable loss to his family, Nigeria and the UK communities.
She described Late Dr Williams as “a quintessential gentleman, a worthy patriot , and highly respected leader in the UK Nigerian Diaspora community as well as in Nigeria .
The NIDCOM boss said the late Williams was a worthy agent of change in all facets of life and humanity and  pioneer Chairman of Nigerian Think Tank Group (NTTG).
“A selfless man , who always puts the needs of others before his. He was on the front line of mobilizing support from Nigerians in Diaspora to assist government efforts in battling Covid-19 pandemic as a member of the Nigerian Diaspora Covid-19 Eradication support group”, she said.
Dabiri-Erewa prayed unto God to give his family and friends the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss and grant him eternal rest.

Chief, Dr.  Anna Mbachu-Ogbuebile ,Councillor in London Borough of Waltham Forest and a community leader in the UK said the news of Dr Dapo Williams death came as a great shock, especially as we have just spoken few days earlier and had some plans and projects in the pipeline.

Dr. Williams is a man that stands for truth, fairness and justice. A great philanthropist and generous to all. He does not tow racial or tribal lines. A man who has great talent in brokering peace and bringing harmony to the Nigerian community and humanity in general.
“Nigeria community especially in UK have lost a rare gem,  a pillar and bridge that unifies all community. I am still speechless and numb”
Sir Chibuzo Ubochi said that all Nigerians in the UK prayers and thoughts are with the Williams family at the difficult moment.
