As many in the UK prepare to travel on holiday spots across Europe their hopes seem to be dashed as the surge in corona virus cases continue to rise in many holiday resorts.
The hopes of Spain on the UK to ease and lift the 14-day quarantine rules for travellers returning to the UK has been quashed by the UK government insistence that the regulation introduced in July was still in place.
The UK on Thursday reported 111 new Covid-19 infections within 24 hours, the second highest figure since the start of the pandemic, after Tuesday’s record of infections, with 128 in one day. Deaths remain at 230.
It has also been confirmed that of 37 people in isolation in so-called “bridge hotels”, 27 are tourists but it has not been specified where they come from.
